Request CAPE data to use in a project

SET responses are made accessible to the UC San Diego community primarily for students' course selection, to assist faculty in course improvement, and as part of Departments'/Programs' holistic evaluation of teaching effectiveness.  As per the posted SET data policy on the UC San Diego SET data access site, data provided to the UC San Diego community should not be used directly for research or project purposes.

If you wish to gain access to complete SET data for project purposes, see the information below.

Student projects for educational purposes

Faculty and instructors may make requests for Likert-scale SET data (excluding instructor identity) to be used by students in their courses or for independent study projects for educational purposes only by filling out this data request form.  If you are a student who wishes to use SET data in an educational project, please contact your instructor/supervisor.

Program improvement

Department chairs and other leadership have access to full reports that may be used for instructional improvement in their department.   If you are a faculty member who wishes to gain access to data beyond your course for instructional improvement in coordination with an official department effort, please contact your department chair.  If you are a department chair who needs access to additional SET data for your instructional improvement project, please contact set@ucsd.edu.

Education research

Researchers wishing to use SET data for education research must first obtain IRB approval, which should also include FERPA review.  Once this approval is obtained, please contact set@ucsd.edu for access to the data.

Researchers may NOT use SET data obtained from any source (including data from their own classes, or data from the UC San Diego SET website) without IRB approval to use this data.
